On holiday with the XLY and radio hounds up near Kirby Stephen. Not a place I had visited before but somewhere I would like to visit again as it’s really lovely.
I was using my usual portable set up, the tried and trusted IC-705, AH-705 and EFLW antenna. Not wanting to make a lot of noise next to the campsite I decided to use FT8 and over the course of nearly 2hrs I got 12 in the log.
What I had not noticed was I was transmitting out of band on 60m, going forward I need to watch this with FT8 as it’s right next to the band edge.
