Up at Studly again with family so it felt rude not to try and get an activation of Studly Royal Park. It’s a lovely park and is very close to my heart having visited all my life.
Was going to be an earlyish start as had plans during the day with the family so got up but could not set off until someone else got up to keep the hound’s company. Once they did I grabbed my bag from the car and did the 5 min walk into the park and got the mast and antenna set up.

I started listening on 40m but there seemed to be a French contest, so I was not going to find a free spot there so went to 20m instead.
There was some activity on 20m but lots of space on the band and the noise level was low.
Started calling CQ and got myself spotted on POTA.app, first to come back to me was Eliseo IK6BAK then Bogdan SP8DSX, so with Italy and Poland hearing me I knew the bands were in good condition and I had good propagation.
Got a few more Italian stations followed by some Spanish, then I got hunted by Nasos SV3SFJ who only gave me a 52 signal report but when I told him I was only using 5w, he was quite impressed.
I got hunted by 3 different Italian stations who were also in parks so great to get some P2P.
By this point I was running out of time so went QRT on my frequency and did a quick hunting of my own and got 2 more P2P Maunel EA2DT/p and IK0XBU/p.
After those I packed up and headed home for a coffee and breakfast.
