Had not done a POTA or even field operation yet this year, and it was like having a bad itch you could not scratch so I headed out to my local park.
The weather was dry but the ground was wet so it was a little muddy on the walk in but I got set up in my usual spot.

Was going to start on 40m but there was a contest on, so there was no space and my 5 watts was not going to cut it so I went to 20m.
The calls came in but it was slow work and I was glad I had packed a flask of coffee as whilst it was not freezing any more it was only just above 0.
I did mange to hunt MW0CBC who was activating a SOTA on 40m.
As 20 was not that busy I tried 2m on my handheld and got M0MDA and M0ALA, I do like getting 2m contacts for POTA.
With 9 in the log and the sunset it was cold and I was wanting to go home so I connected the IC-705 to my iPhones WiFi and used SDR-Control for Icom to get some FT8 contacts. Although its only 10 to activate a park I like to try and get a few more so with 11 contacts in total I called it a day and got packed up in the dark and went home.
