Camping up in the North east and the camp site was right next to this park. The day before had taken a walk through it and noticed we all had no phone signal, so this was going to be a fun park to activate.
Headed in the park and off the paths to find somewhere to set up and start.
I started with SSB but was having no luck so it looked like it was to be a digital only activation. I moved to FT8 and saw in the decodes another POTA operator and managed to get a contact so got a Park to Park with Spain.
The contacts kept coming but slowly and the insects had come out, and I was getting bitten.
Manged to hunt another park and get it in the log but after an hour I had been bitten too much and packed up quickly and headed back to the campsite for a well-earned beer.
