After activating two of the three northern sumits in the Tees to the Wash region I wanted to try and get all of the summits in one year so this was next on the list.
It was a nice drive and the summit activation zone is massive so I found a nice place to set up the radio.

I started on 2m and got G5LSI and then G4OBK quite quickly. A few more calls on 2m but no more takers. Oh well time to move to HF and see if I can get 2 more QSO’s to complete the activation.
20 minutes later I finally got a contact from Spain, and then other contact from G5LSI on HF. Summit activated but it was a nice day and I thought I would stay and see if I could get a few more conacts.
55 minutes later I finally got another contact, this time Denmark. Was feeling a little dishartened after it taking nearly an hour for one contact I called it quits and packed up.
At least I got the summit activated.
