Another new local-ish park to me. I got parked up in the town centre as it’s free to park which was nice. I walked in past the church and along the river Wharfe.
As it’s a big grass area I had a lot of choice as to where to set up and activate it from. I decided to move away from the river and main foot path so I would not be in the way.
On a slight rise I found a big log which I thought I could use to learn against, so I set up the mast a little away and ran the antenna back to the log. With the ATU sitting on the log it was a great set up.
SSB was not brilliant, only on 5 or 10 watts so can get drowned out by other big stations but did get a couple of contacts. On to digital (I must learn CW one day)
On Digital I got enough contacts to activate the park so I got packed up and headed home for a late breakfast.
