Been long time since I’ve been to Roundhay park, think my kids may have been in pushchairs! Parked up and started looking for somewhere to set up and saw a promising hill but was a little cold and hungry so went to the cafe to get a coffee and some cake.
Wondered back up the hill to the place I had spotted, had a nice view over Leeds so was hoping 2m FM might work. Set up the slidewinder and 705 but decided to try 2m first and called on 145.500. Got a reply from M6IAI and moved to 145.450. After that I got 2 more on 2m and tried calling but nothing. Time to move to HF
Started on 20m and got a few calls in the EU but conditions were not brilliant and I was getting cold as being on the top of the hill it was a bit open and in to the wind. Saw G7SQW/P on the spot page at a park so hunted him and that made it 10 in my log, park activated. Packed up and had a nice walk back to car to try and get warm.
