On holiday in Wales with my wife and dog, had been to Porthmadog and had a trip on the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway to Tan-y-Bwlch. At Tan-y-Bwlch we had a walk down to Llyn Mair and I had thought it would be nice location to use the radio from and activate GB-0995 Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. When we got back to where we were staying I had a look at the POTA site and saw it would be a 2fer with GB-1037 Coedydd Maentwrog National Nature Reserve.
I left wife and the dog on the sofa with a beer whilst I drove out to site and got the radio set up.
Conditions were hard but managed to get some contacts inculding G5LSI.
